Travel the Leichhardt Highway from the vibrant border town of Goondiwindi in Queensland’s Western Downs to the heart of the Capricorn Coast, Yeppoon.

Leading from Queensland’s capital, Brisbane, through the Lockyer Valley, up and over the Great Dividing Range, across the Darling Downs and onto the Outback metropolis of Charleville, is the Warrego Highway.

From the home of Gunsynd and Queensland’s Cotton Capital to Queensland’s Garden City, the Gore Highway is some of the best country driving. Taking travellers through the world famous Darling Downs from Goondiwindi to Toowoomba, tourists can explore the patchwork farming landscape, the rich black soils or enjoy some fresh water fishing.

If you’re looking to experience inland fishing at its best, see unique emu egg carvings, visit a winery and even have a beer in the famous Nindigully Pub, the Great Inland Way is a must. A Make sure to stop at Wallam Creek in Bollon, explore Roma, the first site where oil and gas were discovered in Australia, or visit Hebel, where the infamous Kelly gang bushrangers resided.
