North Coast

Halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, the North Coast is an intriguing blend of old and new.

Visitors will be charmed by Tweed and surrounds unspoilt coastline and endless beaches. Discover its quiet estuaries and charming villages, or explore the Tweed River and Mount Warning National Park. Close by lay Ballina, Byron and surrounds, a lush hinterland full of natural wonders and Lismore and surrounds, known as the hidden jewel between the rainforest and the sea.

Discover the Clarence River which winds through Clarence Coast and Country or explore The Great Dividing Range which meets the sea on the Coffs Coast. For a more relaxed environment Port Macquarie, Kempsey, Taree and Surrounds presents a region of national parks, surf beaches and coastline.

Keen nature walkers can wander through the World Heritage-listed Barrington Tops National Park in Barrington Tops. Further down the coast, travellers can visit the Dolphin Capital of Australia in Port Stephens or stop over at Newcastle, a vibrant cosmopolitan city perched between a working harbour and beautiful beaches. With the Hunter Valley close by, so are world class wines, as is the Central Coast and Lake Macquarie and Surrounds with a vast aquatic playground four times the size of Sydney Harbour.

Inspiring surroundings of pristine beaches and lush hinterland define the North Coast.
